Android FAQs
App Running in Background
Carrier SmartHome needs to run in the background to detect when you enter or leave the geofence.
Battery or Performance Optimizers
If you use any battery or performance optimization apps, make sure Carrier SmartHome is excluded. These apps can stop background services and disrupt geofence detection.
App Activity Cannot be Paused on Android
Some Android devices automatically pause apps that have not been opened in a while. When this happens, SmartHome cannot run essential background services like geofence checks.
Make sure “Pause app activity if unused” is turned off.
You can find this setting under:
Settings > Apps > Carrier SmartHome > App permissions > Unused app settingsIf this is enabled, Android may remove permissions or stop background activity. Turning it off ensures your app stays active and your home automations work as expected.
