Adding Devices to Your Home
There are two ways to add one or more devices to your selected home, depending on the type of equipment you’re setting up.
For Infinity® System Controls
Infinity systems must first be connected to your home Wi‑Fi using the wall control before completing setup in the SmartHome app.
Step 1: Connect the Wall Control to Wi‑Fi
On the wall control, connect it to your home Wi‑Fi network.
Important: The wall control must be connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network. (5 GHz networks are not supported.)
You can access the required setup information using either of the following paths on the system control:
Menu → Wireless Setup → Wi‑Fi Info
orTap the screen → open Menu → select the down arrow → Wireless → Remote Access Setup Information
Make note of the following details shown on the screen:
Device name
Serial number
MAC address
PIN
Step 2: Finish Setup in the SmartHome App
1. Open the SmartHome app and sign in.
2. From the Home screen, tap the three dots (top right).
3. Tap Add Device.
4. Select Add Device Manually.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device via QR or by entering details manually:
6. If you chose to use QR, scan the QR code on the Infinity System Control:
7. If you are having trouble with the QR code or chose to enter details manually, enter the device name, serial number, MAC address, and PIN from your wall control.
8. After the device is paired, name your device, add a dealer, set your and enjoy whole home comfort! Once finished, your system will appear on the Home screen.
For Smart Thermostats
Use this option for Carrier Smart Thermostats that pair directly through the SmartHome mobile app.
How to Add a Smart Thermostat in the SmartHome App
Before you begin, make sure your thermostat is powered on and in pairing or setup mode.
1. Open the SmartHome app and sign in.
2. From the Home screen, tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
3. Tap Add Device.
4. Select your device type (in this case, the Smart Thermostat)
5. Enable Bluetooth to search for nearby devices, or select Add Device Manually.
6. Follow the on‑screen instructions to connect your device.
7. Once pairing is complete, your device will appear on the Home screen dashboard.
How to Add a Device Using the Web Portal
You can also add a device from the web version of SmartHome:
Log in at my.carrier.com.
Click the “+” icon in the top right corner.
When prompted, enter the following from your Infinity® wall control:
Device name
Serial number
MAC address
PIN
You can find this information on your wall control under Menu ➔ Wireless Setup ➔ Wi-Fi Info. Make sure your controller is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Having Trouble Pairing?
If you’re experiencing issues, try the following:
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled for the SmartHome app (mobile setup only)
Confirm your Wi‑Fi network is 2.4 GHz
Restart the SmartHome app and your mobile device
Move closer to the thermostat or wall control during setup
